The winemaker and cellar master at Elusa Winery check individual grapes moving along the sorting table for one more check before their transfer into the fermentation tank. This step is one hallmark of precision wine making in Napa Valley. Another piece of equipment is the de-stemming machine which separates individual grape berries from from the stems of full clusters from the vineyard. We marvel that someone invented this ingenious wine processing device! Elusa, located at the new Four Seasons Resort, is a small producer of handcrafted cabernet sauvignon and a full-bodied sauvignon blanc sourced from its Calistoga vineyards.
